Thank You, Mom!

Thought my mom deserves a spot in my blog, so here it is.

How was my mom as a mother? During my younger days, I always thought my mom would make a good doctor, I could still remember when one of us falls ill, she would give us the right medicine and she would give it on time. One time I even had measles, I remember I was hugging my mom (without her being so conscious about contracting the virus) and we had this talk about life and suddenly I asked when she will die (I didn't know where that question came from, maybe I was so scared of losing her, we'd lose our doctor in the house) and she answered year 2039 (she just added 100 to her birth year), unfortunately, it was too soon that we lost her on 2012.

I could also remember when she would check on us every single night if we're complete (she'd count like how a shepherd does to sheep) and see if we have tucked our blankets properly, otherwise, she would do it for us, that's how caring my mom was.

How was my mom as a wife to my dad? In a typical Chinese family, especially in the early days, they are not the sweet type but by actions you would know they really love each other, my mom bore the loud snoring every night, the patience to talk to my dad since my dad was somehow legally deaf with 90% hearing loss, and every time my dad would celebrate his birthday, well, actually every member in the family, she would call for a food delivery to make that day extra special and my mom would remember all of our birthdays (9 siblings) including the date in Chinese Lunar calendar.

How was my mom as a grandmother? She would take time to help my sisters/brothers to guide them on how is the proper way to care for their kids. Every time her grand children would visit, she would carry them, kiss them, would even change their diapers, or give them milk and put them to sleep.

It's been almost 8 years since we've lost our mom, thank you for being the best mom in the world, and for being the most patient person I've ever known in my life. We love you forever and ever. Happy mother's day!❤️
