What is the Difference between Facebook and Messenger Group Chat?

Just recently, last August 16, Facebook announced that Chats in Facebook Group will no longer be available starting August 22, 2019. Of course, as a big user of group chat in Messenger, I was worried that I could no longer get in touch with my friends in Facebook's group chat.

So, what is the difference between Chats in Facebook Group, and Messenger's group chat?

Chats in Facebook Group are created by members or created by your admin who may not be directly connected to you. Although, there's no explanation as to why this chat feature will be removed, but one reason might be to limit spammers and unsolicited messages.

Facebook clarified  that the change will not impact group chats in Messenger with your friends - only chats in your Facebook Group. So worry no more, the old Chats in your Facebook Group will be archived on 22nd of August, and will be readable but will no longer be able to chat further.

"You will still be able to start a group chat with anyone who you are friends with or are connected to in Messenger," as their statement further reads.
